Hokitika Wildfoods Festival
 

13th March 2010 Hokitika will host the 21st Wildfoods Festival.
And the population will swell to over 20,000 for that weekend.
Some will come by train, plane, truck, bike or car.
Some from very near and some from very far.
The town will come alive to wild music, wild bush food and will be washed down with West Coast Beer.

Moonshine Drench

Good drench in the name of moonshine made locally in the stills in the wild hills near Hokitika. You can eat anything from snails, huhu grubs, wild pork, possum pies, venison, sheeps brains, to sheeps balls or mountain oysters as the locals call them. And you can drink anything from billy tea, wine, moonshine, and West Coast Beer.
